Obituary of William Elsner

Elsner, William "Bill" age 82 of North Caldwell at rest in Cedar Grove on August 16, 2024. Long time companion of Carol Hoffman of North Caldwell. He is also survived by many good friends. Born in Newark, he lived in Mt. Arlington for most of his life, before moving to North Caldwell eight years ago. He was a Letter Carrier for the United States Post Office, Union, for thirty years before retiring in 2001. He was a US veteran, joining the Navy immediately after high school, and serving on an oil tanker, the USS Mississinewa. Bill was an avid model N gauge train enthusiast with a large layout, including buildings that he built himself. He also loved to dance and travel and has been just about everywhere in the world. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday at 1:00 PM at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa. Friends may attend the memorial gathering on Friday 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. Cremation was private at the request of the family.
