Dora was like a second mother to all. She cared about everyone in her way. Working at Pappy’s as a kid I learned so much from John and Dora. They are the hardest working people I knew. Amazing in every way! You will be missed Dora but never forgotten! Love Rich Sloma

Dora has been a big part of my life since I was a kid. She watched me grow up and was always there to satisfy my appetite with a hog dog with mustard and sauerkraut, a cheeseburger, and fries all the way. She would even hug me whenever she would see me. I extend my condolences to John and her Pappy's family.

Dora was always very sweet and kind each time my brother and I would come into Pappys even after we moved away from Totowa. Each time we would visit she would always be excited to see us. Some of my best childhood memories include your restaurant and you. May she rest in peace.

My prayers are with Dora's family at this time. I was introduced to Pappy's Diner in the late 90s when I was in college by a friend who knew them a long time. Many fun times were had there and Dora was the best host! If it was a slow day, her husband would come out of the kitchen and have a conversation and cup of coffee with us. It breaks my heart when I drive by that empty building. Rest In Peace, my dear friend. I'm so sorry that I lost touch with you after you left Pappy's. I think of you often. I will visit you soon.

To the Tsigounis Family,
I am very sorry to hear that Doris has passed away. I enjoyed meeting and conversing with her at Pappy's Diner. She was a kind and a delightful lady. God bless your family at this difficult time.

Dora was one woman who never forgot a face, no matter how long it had been since your last visit to Pappy’s. From the time I was a little girl going in to pick up an order for mom and dad … she knew just by looking at me what family I belonged to. Through the years she always made me feel so special every time I saw her. She always asked about family members by name. I admired her for her beauty. She was a stunningly beautiful young woman and she grew old graciously. Dora was an icon in Totowa history. RIP sweet friend, till we meet again.

My entire life I remember Dora being at Pappys. Whenever my Mom and I would go in there she would talk with us pretty much the whole time. Even after my Mom got sick and I would go in to pick up food Dora always asked how she was doing. There is a small part of me that is happy Pappys is closed because I just can't imagine that place without her. RIP my friend. You will be missed.
