Turi, John M. "Jay" age 61 of Clifton at rest in Clifton on December 15, 2013. Beloved husband of the late and former Angelina "Angela" Federica (2012). Loving Father of Colleen E. Turi-Donado and her husband James S. of West Milford. Loving grandfather of Angelina Joyce Donado. Dear brother of Christine De Young of Midland Park, Carl Turi of Hawthorne and Mark Turi of Littleton, CO. Also surviving are eighteen nieces and nephews and his beloved pet cat, Tum Tum. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson for most of his life before moving to Clifton eight years ago. He was a Culinary Arts Teacher for Lincoln High School, Jersey City for the past five years. Mr. Turi was a member of the Jersey City Kiwanis Club and was involved with the Jersey City Special Olympics. He was a member of the New Jersey Education Association and was involved with the Good Shepherd Mission, Paterson. Jay was an avid musician and loved to be surrounded by good food and good people. He touched many lives and was a gentle giving soul. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday at 9:15 AM. Funeral mass to follow at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Clifton at 10:00 AM. Committal service to follow at Cedar Lawn Crematory, Paterson. Friends may visit Wednesday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's & Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105 would be appreciated.
