Jay will be missed by so many people but our family will not be the same without his presence. He is an integral part of our holidays at Arle and Doc's house. He made us laugh and brightened our holidays. I know his spirit will be with us this Christmas and many more to come. Sending thoughts of love and peace to Colleen and her family.

Very few patients touch the staff of a doctor's office. John was a patient for many years and all of us broke down when we heard the news. Listening to Silent Night today, I can only hope and pray that he will rest peacefully and that his family will mend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I met Jay when he was bartending in the 90’s. Since then until more recently, I would see he and Angela at different holiday get-togethers with my good friends. We’d talk food (of course!) and books. Not until just recently did I really have the honor of getting to know him well. He was sweet, charming, gentle, thoughtful, and intelligent. He loved his family, friends, along with his culinary students, had musical talents and had a penchant for words. I coveted his superb people skills and enjoyed really getting to know him. I told him so, and more than once, and I’m so fortunate that I did. He will be greatly missed by the many he touched.

Dear Colleen, Jim, Baby Angelina and family,
It was a pleasure and honor to know Jay. I consider myself lucky to be blessed with his spirit. You are blessed to have known him as a father, grandfather and friend. On a lighter note, three cheers for Jay! I will meet up with him again and we can toast with some of the Jagermeifter and Goldschlager that he so kindly gave me as gifts fitting for the Oktoberfest party at my house in late September. May God Bless you all at this very sad time in your lives. He will be greatly missed as he was appreciated by all of those around him.

My deepest condolences to the Turi family and I prayer every night that god strengthens you all. Turi was more then a mentor to me he taught me everything I know from working in the kitchen to how to keep my eye on the prize. Turi was my father. And my heart goes out to his family. I still can't believe it I just saw him the week before thanksgiving we talked all day as I helped him in the kitchen. We talked about food, music, college , everything. And that day he said I'm proud son you're doing a great thing and you keep up the good work in college you make everyone here proud ok? And I looked at him and said Yea pop I will. And he said the secret to success is hard work so don't slack off you big dummy and we both laughed. But I'll never forget him I looked up to that man and I thank god for allowing him to impart his knowledge in my life. Once again my condolences to the family.
P.s.
It ok to cry because the only way out is the way through

To the family of Chef Turi; I will remember his smile and the jolly way he lived life. As I think back on the cooking field trips with him, my daughter Ariel and the cooking students of the Class of 2012 I smile, but most of all I will remember when you and the students of LHS 2012 Culinary Arts class served at Trinity Lutheran in Jersey City at our 119th Church Anniversary Dinner. We were blessed by him and his giving spirit.
