We are Carmela's cousins and we met Joe and Josie while we were still working at Cedar Crest, and we still visit them every now and then. He loves to eat the apple pie that I made during the apple picking season and he has been very hospitable and he was really a very good, loving person we ever knew. May God showers his soul with blessings and may he see Jesus loving face!!! Rest in Peace Joe.

Though we haven’t seen you personally Joe, me and the kids felt like we knew each other for a long time. We only talked on the phone a couple of times, but I I can tell how different you are – a kindhearted, generous, loving man. Carmela always talked about you, and Josie and your children to us. She have always boasted how lucky she was to have cared for you. She always told us to pray for you and Josie, and you were always in our prayers. We were so saddened by your passing, but for everything there is a season and there is a reason.
Our only hope and consolation is that you are at peace now with your Creator, rejoicing in the company of angels and saints in heaven. From the bottom of hearts Joe, we thank you. May you rest in peace - Amen.

We may not know Joe personally but we surely come to know you because Carmela knew you. She has told us stories about you as a good person. Your golden heart may have stopped beating and your hard-working hands at rest, it only proved that God only takes the best.

Oh how my heart goes out to you Celeste and your family. I only had the honor of meeting your Dad twice, and both times he was such a nice, thoughtful funny man. I knew more about your Dad through the wonderful stories you shared. He was a life force and will be missed. God Bless you and your family and be comforted that your Dad is is heaven with his heavenly Father and is touching the face of Jesus.

Early sixties, walking through Stoney Road to visit Celeste at your loving Hoxey Street home, was a journey I always looked forward to. Your Dad always greeted me with a huge smile, and your Mom, of course, offered me food. I can think of no warmer, safer or prettier home in the neighborhood to visit.
Years later, when I managed to survive the Hippie years, get married and buy a house, I distinctly remember receiving your father's very enthusiastic approval. It meant so much to me.

My condulences go out to the Mancenelli family! I met Mr. Joseph 3months ago but it felt like I knew him all my life. He welcomed me to his home and made me feel like family. He was my hospice patient but I looked at him more than just a patient. I am sad to know he is no longer here but I am thankful for having the opportunity to be there with him on his last days! He is in my prayers and thoughts always but especially in my heart! As I continue to provide care for his lovely wife Mrs. Josephine Mancenelli I know he'll be smiling down at us because thats what he would want for me to do as well as his children and two lovely aides! And everytime ill take a bite of cookies and pastries ill think of my Joe! May the lord welcome him into his arms and give him peace! YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART POPPA! Much love and blessings to you and your entire family!

Carmela - your caring aide posted a condolence
Knowing you and your family Joe was God’s perfect plan in my life. I have always boasted how grateful I am to have cared for you.. Two years was worth a lifetime of learning and sharing the simplest and most important things in life. With you I’ve learned the value of education in the lives of your children. How you have worked hard and toiled day and night to send them to college... to realize the unfulfilled dreams of your past and to fulfill the dreams of their own. You were the author of the family which I have highly regarded to be different…very closely and affectionately bonded, built and founded in love and deepest concern for each other, . With you, began the story of a happy home, caring children and well lived lives.
You have taught me the value of every single penny, and to spend it wisely. You encouraged me to save, and save, and save, so when you’re old, you won’t be a burden to your children.
True indeed Joe, I witnessed the good harvest of the seeds you have sown. You lived a comfortable life in your aging years, and you were blessed with children who cared and loved you until your last breath.
I knew the pains you felt from your ailing health, but you managed to look good, that people never noticed them. I knew your greatest fear, the fear to die, all because of your family, but in the end you were not afraid, you overcame them. From womb to tomb, God was with you Joe, and now you’re rested in the bossom of your Creator. May He forgive you from all your inequities, cleanse and sanctify you soul, and bring you to everlasting joy. May you rest in peace Joe…..Amen.
