Your Family posted a condolence
Thank you all for coming to Papi’s memorial service. I’m sure he’s looking down on us all right now and is so pleased to know how many lives he has touched. Between the numerous calls and e-mails giving their condolences and seeing everyone who came these past few days and all of you here today is a testament to that. I speak today on behalf of my entire family. Papi left a huge hole in our hearts that is sitting right next to the hole Mami left almost 15 years ago. He will never be forgotten. His amazing devotion to us all is a legacy that we will carry with us and share with his grandchildren so that it is continued. He left us with a true appreciation for our family and friends. If we can become half the person he was through his life, we will have all done so well for ourselves. He always took care of his family. He worked hard long days to make sure we always had food, that we always had a roof over our heads and he saw to it that we were all taught well. He took care of us before he took care of himself. Any free time he had was spent with his family, weither is was taking us to Garret Mountain to enjoy the snow in the winter or to fly a kite in the summer or weither it was taking us for a fast food dinner on Friday nights so Mami didn’t have to cook or simply just being home with us was enough for him. He didn’t need to be part of any club or member of any association. The only club and membership he wanted to be involved in and be a part of was his family and ultimately that is what mattered in the end.
Papi was a professional in all he did. He was definitely a success in all the sense of the word. He was successful at his job and was highly respected and loved by his coworkers. He was successful at being a devoted brother to his sisters and brothers because that part of his life was also very very important to him. He was successful at being an Uncle to his nieces and nephews. Most of them, if not all of them, will tell you that he was like a father to them. His most important accomplishment was being a successful family man. It was his deep and abiding love for his wife, his children and our families.
We are going to sorely miss him. His strength throughout these trying years was beyond amazing. He displayed so much strength, so much endurance and so much love of life. Being around that example definitely helped us through other struggles in our lives. It exposed us to the reality that when you have faith, love and hope in abundance, like he did, it will get you through.
We know he would want us to get on with our lives, and to pay close attention to the value of living a God-centered life well. In later years, he did not attend church, but he was one of the most spiritual men we know because of the values he instilled in all of us by his example. We hope that you who have come today can see a little bit of his greatness in us, his children, and his grandchildren.
We will try our hardest to measure up to how fine a human being he was while here with us although we think he broke the mold. My father’s life taught us to do what God wants us all to accomplish and that is to make a positive difference in the lives of your family and others around you because in doing so you will have made a positive difference in your own.
We will always love you deeply Papi. We’re proud of you. May God Bless you on your journey Home.

It is with sadness that I write you. My prayers will always be with you especially in the next few days. I love you all very very much, and pray that the Lord will give you strength to endure what must be. Psalm 121 reads . I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord. the Maker of heaven and earth. The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. I pray you read this Psalm in it's entirety. God Bless you all. My memories of Tio, go way back to my teen years, when Titi and Tio came to Ohio with both kids, Gladys & Jose. I remember his laugh and jokes and especially his love for his family. I wish I had more times with him. But, one thing you taught me was love & compassion for others. I loved his french toast. Those are my memories of Tio. He will be missed, wish he had come back to Ohio. I Loved him very much.

It's not easy losing a loved trust me i know. A loved one is like a treasure of the heart ,and to lose that loved one is like losing a piece of yourself. You come to realize that the time, and the memories that you shared with with each other were nothing short of a precious gift of love in your life. The memories you share live forever and grow richer through the years. They're moments sent from heaven above to eternally connect us to the people that we have loved in our lives. My fondest memories of Tio Cheo will always be when we had our weekend trip to the old house and spent time together as a family . Now that is how we should always be, as one, as a family. The sheer intense connection and feeling we share, and cherish. That is something that will forever be with us till the end of our days. All I can say now is that Tio Cheo is with his true love, Titi Irma and is surrounded with other loved ones up in heaven . May the lord bless him, and shine his long lasting light upon you Tio till the hereafter.

In my breif passings with SR. I felt the strength and saw the leadership in his character and demenor. I know that he has installed that in his children and that The All Mighty holds him now in highest ranks. We'll all miss him here but lets shape up so we can see him there. With love always The Oliveras Family.

Dad,
There are no words to express the wisdom and model of fearless resolve you have shown me and left behind as just a part of your legacy. Even though my attempts to be half the man you were has sometime felt like chasing the wind, I will continue to live my life striving to be just like you Dad. You have been my example of courage, faith, iron clad committment and a father's love. I love you dearly Dad and will miss you all of the days of my life. Thanks for the love and sacrifices you made for me, my sisters, Mom and our families. I am sure as you look down on us from heaven next to our maker and Mom, you now know none of your sacrifices were in vain.
With my eternal love,
Your Son always, Jose Jr.
