Harraka, George A. age 87 of Wayne at rest in Wayne on August 31, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Helen (nee Baskinger) Harraka (2011). Loving father of Patricia Spinella and her husband Peter of Wayne, Jo-Ann Nauta of Wayne, Richard Harraka and his wife Maria of Little Falls and the late George Harraka, Jr. (2011). Grandfather of Jeffrey, Ashlee, Dana, Keith and Rachel. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Jessie Hladik and Rose Portelli and 2 brothers, Joseph and James Harraka and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson, he lived in Totowa for most of his life before moving to Wayne less than a year ago. He was the owner of Metzler's Delicatessen, Paterson. Prior to that, he was the owner of George's Market, Woodland Park before retiring. Mr. Harraka was a member of the American Legion, John Raad Post #438, Paterson and he was the Commander from 1950-1951. He was a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps serving in WWII in the South Pacific. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Wednesday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at Holy Angel's R.C. Church, Little Falls at 10:00 AM. Interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. Friends may call Tuesday 4-8 PM. For more information, go to www.festamemorial.com.
