Spano, Emanuel "Al" A. of Totowa at rest in Wayne on May 14, 2006. Beloved husband of the former Madeline Buonpastore. Father of John S. Spano and his wife Arlene and Elaine Trautmann. Grandfather of Artie Trautmann and his fiancee Michelle Mabey, Elyssa Trautmann, Matthew and Michael Spano and the late John Anthony Spano. Uncle of Sally LaSalla. Brother of the late Nina, Sam, Jean and Jaye. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. OBITUARY
Emanuel "Al" A. Spano age 87 of Totowa died Sunday. Born in Prov. di Siracusa, Sicily, Italy, he came to the United States in 1919 residing in Johnstown, PA, then in Paterson, Totowa, West Milford, and Florida before moving back to Totowa. He was a Dye House employee for Martin Wiener Textile Co., Paterson, NJ. Mr. Spano was owner/proprietor of Elaine Sweet Shop in West Milford and Glenwild Inn in Bloomingdale before retiring in 1984. He was a Parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa, member of its Knights of Columbus and member of the Totowa Seniors. He was a W.W. II Navy veteran.
