I am not surprised that my parent's good friend, Tom Rooney, lived so long. He was full of energy, ideas, solutions and love for his family and the city of Paterson. What a dedicated servant he was to all. He was a rare individual with many interests, talents and skills. The image accompanying this post says it all about Tom. May GOD bless his family and friends with good memories of him for a long time.

Tom was an honorable man who served in the best interest of all Patersonians. I served as a police officer when he was an elected official. He was an energetic lightening rod in his pursuit of helping the citizens of Paterson through his public service. His pride, made us all proud of being citizens of Paterson, NJ. It was an honor and privilege to have known Mr. Rooney my entire life. He was an honoroable public servant for the city of Paterson. He was also a proud member of St. George's Church. He is now reunited with his beloved wife and mother. Rest in peace until we meet again.

No one ever served Paterson longer, or better than Tom Rooney. His obituary lists all the accomplishments of his long life of giving. But the list of those hearts he touched is much longer. Tom was one of those rare people who made you feel better by just spending time with him. God speed Tom… you made a difference…
