It’s been years since we spoke but I still think of you. There’s so few people in the world like you, no matter how hard I try to think there’s nothing bad to say. One of the memories that sticks out the most is when I got locked up and how we wrote back and forth to each other. I was 16, you were 15, I felt like I was forgotten by most people in this world, but you always wrote back. You sent me a bass to play on when I got released into a program and you wrote positive notes all over it which helped me make it through. After 14 months when I got out, I came over to your house and you had a folder of everything I sent to you. The fact that you held on to it all made me feel as though you truly cared. The last time we spoke was in 2019, I still remember the whole conversation, I don’t know if you ever knew how much it meant to me. Even though the years have separated us you’re one of the most important people that I’ve ever met. Even though I’ve missed you for years there’s an emptiness now that you’re gone, the knowledge that I’ll never hear from you again is something that’s hard to come to terms with. I’ll miss you for eternity and I wish I could have spent just one more day with you. I love you and always will, your friendship was one of the best I’ve ever known.
