Obituary of Larry Cattaneo

Cattaneo, Larry age 73 of Totowa, NJ at rest July 13, 2024. Loving son of Joan and the late Dante Cattaneo (2000). Best friend and loving brother to the late Roy Cattaneo (2013). Beloved uncle of Melissa Tran and her husband Ty, and Nicholas Cattaneo and his wife, Beth. Dear great uncle to Evvy, Josie, Aria and Harrison. Survivors include several cousins in NJ, PA and AZ. Born in Paterson, he lived there until 1955, then moved with family to Totowa where he lived the remainder of his life. Larry played soccer at Pascack Valley High School. Larry left Totowa briefly to go off to College at Upsala College in East Orange, NJ where he obtained his Bachelor's. Larry worked for the United States Post Office for many years till retirement. He spent retirement caring for his beloved mother. He was also an all-around sports enthusiast, with a particular passion for New York Giants and New York Yankees. He also passionately followed Ohio and Penn State where his nephews graduated. Larry was extremely intelligent with a keen memory for facts and information. He was particularly interested in history and could quickly pull dates of several important historical moments. His niece and nephew remember him as being a loving and supportive uncle. He took great joy in being a part of their lives and supporting through several life chapters. He had a quick sarcastic humor that left his family crying with laughter. He was a strong supporter of the Republican Party and the NRA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday from 10-11 AM with Funeral Service to follow at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa. Interment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. In lieu of flowers donations to the American History Association, 400 A Street SE, Washington, DC 20003 would be appreciated.
