Mrs. Ridgeway- you were always a kind, beautiful person inside and out. No words can express our deepest sympathy to your family for their loss of a kind mom, Grandma, teacher and friend. So caring and an amazing kindergarten teacher to my three girls. Your name to this day still comes up in conversation 24 years later, along with their fuzzy-wuzzys. You made a huge impact on every child that you knew. You will forever have a special place in our hearts. May you rest in peace. Love the Pezzuti Family.

Barbara had a way of lighting up a room with her warmth and laughter. I so enjoyed hearing her share stories around the table at family reunion events. She found humor in so many things. I always think of laughter when I remember spending time around her, Gene and her girls.

Condolences to Kim, Pam and family. Will miss my phone conversations with Barbara. Last conversation just over a week ago. Spoke of family, life, politics, etc. Barb, was cousin to my late wife Patricia Jachts Roedema, who I lost in 2012. May Pat, be there to welcome Barb, to her new home in God’s Heaven.

We met Barbara and Gene when their daughter Pam and our son Keith were entering their freshman year at Moravian College many years ago. We were privileged to know and socialize with them through the years. Subsequently , Barbara became our grandson Taino’s kindergarten teacher and was a wonderful influence on his early education. We traded many humorous classroom stories of those days. They are both in our hearts and memories and are missed. Our prayers and condolences to their loved ones.

I have not known Barbara for very long, but our phone conversations about the joys of teaching brought us together. We shared water aerobics and choir together at Wyngate. And, after my fall prevented me from singing in our spring concert this year, Barbara showed up at our front door with a get well card and beautiful cactus plant. I was in rehab at the time, at the end of June this year, when she gave her thoughtful gift to my husband. Thinking of others was at Barbara’s core. As we reminisced about our late nights after school, oh so many years ago, Barbara’s love for her students shined through every memory. I will miss her and our community will miss her smiling face as well! Rest in Peace my friend!

Thoughts of sympathy to Barbi’s family. Remembering all the fun times we shared together at Wyngate from the moment she became my friend. Sharing stories of North Jersey our grandkids politics and what event was next to participate in became hot topics of our many telephone calls. Will miss her being part of my life Just too sudden!

My dear Mother, Barbara,
I miss you so much. I hope you are at peace in heaven, reunited with Daddy and Aunt Carol.
You cared so deeply for everyone who crossed your path. You have shown me what is takes to be a loving parent and partner for Aidan, Katie and John and a friend to all. We all love you so much. I’m so incredibly grateful and blessed to have had you as my Mother. I so miss your sparking blue eyes, your laugh, your funny stories, thoughtful notes, and dinners together. I keep picking up the phone to call you. I’ll miss my daily chats with you. My heart aches for all of us but is elated with joy for the incredible life you lead and for knowing you rest with our Lord. I love you Mom. ❤️ This is a photo from your 80th birthday mystery ride to Longwood Gardens. I am so thankful to have spent this day with you. Xo

In the short time that I knew Barbara, I found her to be such a kind person with a good word for everyone. It was no surprise to me to discover that she had been a teacher and was devoted to her students. Her caring attitude was evident to anyone who met her. She was an important member of our Wyngate community and I am honored to have known her.

Barbara was a vibrant member of the Wyngate Single Ladies Club.
She attended all the meetings and fun events and contributed in many ways.
She was well loved because of her smile, kindness, and positive attitude.
Barbara always made sure she acknowledged your birthday or illness by
sending you a card, baking her famous cake, or just stopping by to see you.
We will miss her very much!

Mrs. Ridgeway and the entire Ridgeway family were such huge parts of my childhood in Totowa. I am so so sorry Kim and Pam and families….and her beautiful grandchildren. I am so sorry that you lost your beautiful mother this week. She was lovely and kind and all of the things that are good. I enjoyed connecting with her and seeing her and hearing about her life through your pictures. She will be sadly missed by so many. I enjoyed all the pictures and videos she would send me…that she would find of us as kids. She loved me and my children, too. With great sympathy, Melanie DeMaria and children Avery & Logan. Our hearts are broken for you all. ❤️
