Obituary of George Joseph Pepe
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of George Joseph Pepe on Monday, June 3rd, 2024 at the age of 72. George passed away peacefully at his childhood home, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on September 9, 1951 in Atlanta, GA, George was the beloved son of George Thomas Pepe & Marion Pepe. He grew up in West Paterson. George married Denise Marrone on October 27th, and together they built a loving family. George developed a lifelong passion for crab fishing, feeding his deer, saving animals. He’s had many pets over the years. He also was a foodie. Loved trying new restaurants and enjoyed his desserts like lemon pie, lemon cookies, carrot cake, Italian knots and of course the kids Alfajores and Tres Leches. He was their best customer. He was very proud Pop Pop! He enjoyed the summers at the Jersey Shore with his wife and grandchildren and of course going to Aruba with his wife and friends. George's career as a restaurant owner, debt collection agency was just a few businesses has owned. He was deeply involved in his community. He really loved going the Italian Club to enjoy a good cup of coffee and catch up with old friends. His unwavering Catholic faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was a devoted member of St Bonaventures. He is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Marrone, his children Fred, (spouse) Marjorie, Denielle, (spouse) Erick, and Grandchildren Joseph, Andrea, Nicholas, Alyssa, Alex, Toni, Ricky, Ricardo, Gabriel. George was preceded in death by his parents, George Thomas Pepe & Marion Pepe, and daughter Tricia Stringham DePinto 2010 whom he deeply missed. George's joy and warmth touched the lives of many. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Rest in eternal peace, dear Pop Pop. We love you always. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Committal prayers to follow at Cedar Lawn Crematory, Paterson. Friends may visit Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Shore Animal League, 25 Davis Avenue, Port Washington, NY 11050 would be appreciated.
