Soohoo, Lakyoung E. "Lit" age 74 of Totowa at rest in Paterson on May 27, 2024. Beloved husband of forty six years to the former Mary Ellen Lang of Totowa. Loving father of Samantha Soohoo of Totowa, Nicole Soohoo of Totowa, Meghan Soohoo-Talamini and her husband Ronald of Rockaway, Christopher Soohoo of St. Augustine, FL. and the late Nicholas Joseph Soohoo (1978) and the late Michelle Soohoo (1990). Dear grandfather of Nathanial Michael and Nicholas Andrew. Also surviving are eight siblings, many nieces and nephews and his beloved grand fur babies, Katy, Selena, Charlie, Khalessi and Dobby. Born in New York, N.Y., he lived in Paterson for most of his life, then Florida before moving to Totowa in 1972. He was a Maintenance Engineer for the Passaic County Courthouse, Paterson, for many years before retiring in 2023. Lit was a lifelong member of the Cesare Battisti Independent Political Club of Paterson until it's closing. He was a member of the Paterson Chapter Dickheads. He was a social member of the Totowa American Legion Post #227 and the Wayne American Legion Post #174. He enjoyed tending to his peach tree and working on his 1970 Corvette. He also enjoyed repairing anyone's car. He enjoyed playing Tetris on his gameboy and loved watching tele novelas. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, and enjoyed crabbing and fishing. He enjoyed Chinatown in New York City, and dining at buffets. Lit also enjoyed summer vacations with his grandchildren. Lit would want everyone to be comfortable during the visitation hours. Please attend in jeans and sneakers. Relatives and friends may visit on Thursday, May 30, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Interment will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Legion Post #227, 180 Union Blvd., Totowa, N.J. 07512 and/or the American Legion Post #174, 55 Mountainview Blvd., Wayne, N.J. 07470.
