Obituary of Theresa Roos

Roos, Theresa "Terry" (nee Alfano) age 95 of Basking Ridge, Bernards Township, at rest in Livingston on April 14, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Rudolf "Rudy" Roos (2007). Loving mother of Caroline Sergison and her husband David of Clinton, Eric Roos of Basking Ridge and Allen Roos of Bedminster. Dear grandmother of Matthew Sergison, Megan Sergison, Emily Fischer and her husband Gary, Abigail Roos, Julila Roos, Alexander Roos, Marina Roos and Ryan Barile. Great grandmother of Ezra Fischer. Terry was pre deceased by twelve siblings. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Born in East Rutherford, she lived in Totowa for most of her life before moving to Basking Ridge in 2008. She was an Administrative Assistant for the North Arlington Board of Education, working in the high school for many years before retiring in 2004. Terry was a founding member, player and coach of the North Arlington Women's Softball League. She was an avid 3 season golfer. She was also a bowler. She was an excellent cook and baker especially during the Christmas season. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden and would can various vegetables including tomatoes. She was a Dallas Cowboy and New York Yankee Fan. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting and making blankets and scarfs for her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
