How appropriate to pass the beginning of summer. Summer, a time of rest. She was a master teacher not only in academics but in life skills.
Thank you just isn’t enough.
The Lord has blessed your family with years of precious memories. Cherish them as you have times of sadness. And rejoice knowing she’s responsible for helping thousands of lives.
Photo is one of my many middle school classes.

Oh no! A master teacher. My mentor. I had her in 1968. She is the reason I’ve taught for 40 years. I have modeled her excellence to the best of my ability.
My regards to the family. I can’t even imagine the void as a family member when I only knew her as teacher and she cannot be replaced.

Mrs Reda was my teacher in grade school. She was very influential in my life. I don’t recall all my teachers but she definitely made an impression! I recall having to write a research paper on Wrigley chewing gum as a result of chewing gum in class!
I never knew how many research papers I’d write later but she taught my how to write my first!
Thank you Mrs Reda!!

I just found out that Mrs.Reda passed away. We exchanged Christmas cards every year and I would drop a note as an update. Her penmanship was still flawless. I’m going to really miss those cards but most especially the knowing that she is no longer with us. I was a little 5th grader, had some kind of school role and remember getting to choose the color of the new curtains for the stage. It was such a big deal. I stayed in touch as she always saw the best in me and encouraged me to think and do more. She didn’t have to say much, you felt her message with her eyes. I am forever grateful for the lessons I learned from her and give my sincere condolences to her family.

I worked with Marge as the school psychologist and director of special education for 6 years back when. She and I didn't always agree on the next step for some particular student. We would meet after school to work things out. She would voice her point of view and I would voice mine. As many times that I convinced her that my plan to go ahead would work, she would convince me that her plan would work. This was on the same student! We had this dance very often, but we both respected the others' ideas and were able to do what we both thought was best for each individual child. I missed our sparring when I left. What I didn't know then was that her old sport of fencing was being practiced on me.

I was a Speech Therapist at the Martha B Day school when Marge was the Principal. She encouraged me ,actually really pushed me , into getting my certification as a school principal. She did the same thing with my friend Debbie . When each of us would be on a maternity leave , she would tell us this was an opportunity to double up on our coursework to get that certification sooner. Debbie and I both did become School Principals in other districts and Marge always told us we were her legacy. We were privileged to be the Emcees at her retirement dinner. Marge really enjoyed her job and she had a special way of accepting everyone. For a number of years, we would meet up in June, her birthday month, with the other retired teachers. I still remember the year she said she now had family pictures to share with us, and she took out the ultrasound of the granddaughter that was on the way. She was truly over the moon to become a grandmother. I am so glad that she lived to see two grandchildren. God bless Marge.❤️

So when I think of Aunt Marge so many thoughts come to mind. So many good times spent together. Ever the respectable leader, responsible at all times, compassionate and ready to help everyone, caring, understanding, nurturing, welcoming, and the list goes on. Always pushing to make those around her better, and reveling in the accomplishments we achieved. Never taking credit, but many of us would not have had our successes had it not been for her guidance. Her independence, hard work, and perseverance rubbed off on us all.
But then there’s Aunt Marge. You know. The one who held picnics at her house, then would be the first person to grab the hose and start a hose fight. Aunt Marge, the psychic. Telling everyone she could read our future. Having everyone stare at their own oil drop in a bowl of water. That if we look at it close enough we could see our future. And as we stared she slapped her hand down into the bowl soaking us all. She had that mischievous side too.
The pictures that Rich and Stephanie picked truly represent a life well lived.
To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die. She will always live on in ours. Until we meet again.

Mrs. Marge Reda was one of the finest principals I had the privilege working for in Bloomingdale Schools. She was always professional, fair and kind to both her teachers and students. She always demanded and received excellence from both. The children and the teachers loved and respected her. God bless you, Marge.

As Marge's secretary for many years, grief is heavy with the loss of Marge, who unceasingly showered love and support in her role at Martha B. Day School. Her close relationship with both children and staff showcased her kindness, care, and willingness to listen. Marge's undeniable imprint on this world will eternally glow through those fortunate enough to have known her. The memory of such an exceptional individual will always be cherished; she will undoubtedly be deeply missed.

I will always be grateful that I came to MBDay School as a parent and I stayed as a teacher thanks to Marge. She created a special and wonderful environment for us to grow. We became a family. She was missed when she left. She gave me a career I loved and the best “boss”. Rest in heavenly peace Marge. You were as beautiful inside as the beautiful picture posted, timeless.
