Obituary of Louis L. Stell

Stell, Louis L., age 81 of Elmwood Park at rest in Summit on March 20, 2024. Loving husband of Janet Carrotta. Loving father of Cheryl Fernandez and her husband Bret Heisler, Lori Hillas and her husband Tom, Gerard Stell and his wife Jennifer, Louis Stell, Jr., and Domenic Stell. Adoring grandfather of Shawn Hillas and his wife Danielle, Brian Hillas, Sofia Fernandez, Brenden Stell, Alexandra Stell, and Tom Hillas, Jr. and his wife Vanessa. Doting great-grandfather of Harleigh and Thomas III. Dear brother of Gerald Jacovelli, Domenic Jacovelli, and the late Ronald Stell. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson, then in Wayne and South Jersey before moving to Elmwood Park. He was a Detective Sergeant for the Paterson Police Department, for 25 years before retiring in 1994. Mr. Stell was a member of PBA Local #1. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran, and was also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Drum and Bugle Corps, Paterson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Monday at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Friends may visit Sunday 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
