Obituary of John Mantione

Mantione, John age 94 of Totowa at rest in Paterson on December 20, 2023. Beloved husband of 73 years of Mary (nee Sorrentino) Mantione. Loving father of Peter Mantione and his wife Karen, John Mantione and his wife Maryanne and JoAnn Mantione. Dear grandfather of Lauren Capo and her husband Anthony, and Nicole Siddon and her husband Ryan. Adoring great-grandfather of Lucas and Lia Capo. Dear brother of Mary Montagna and her husband Carlo and the late Ireneo Mantione and his wife the late Velia Mantione and the late Paul Mantione. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Born in Detroit, MI he moved to Italy before moving back to the United States and residing in Totowa. He was a mason and bricklayer for Union Local #4 of NJ and Allied Craftworker. Mr. Mantione was a member of Passaic Valley Elks Lodge 2211, Totowa and a lifetime member of the Italian American Independent Club of Totowa and Union Local #4. He was also a parishioner of St. James RC Church, Totowa. John was an avid wine maker. He loved to garden and tend to his fig trees. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Saturday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James RC Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Laurel Grove Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Friday 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
