Obituary of Joanne "Jan" M. Vecchiarella

Vecchiarella, Joanne "Jan" M. (nee O'Neill), age 84 of Totowa at rest in Totowa on December 2, 2023. Beloved wife of the late John Vecchiarella (2020). Loving mother of Maura Douglass and her husband Ron of Totowa, and the late Michael Vecchiarella (2018). Adoring grandmother of Connor and Kevin Douglass. Dear sister of Joe O'Neill and his wife Patti of MA. Loving aunt of Heather O'Neill, Lorin Salchli, and Evan O'Neill. She is also survived by her beloved cats, Belle and Kato. Born and raised in Paterson, she lived in Paterson until she was 16 before moving to Totowa. Despite living in Totowa for most of her life she was a proud "Stoney Roader". Joanne worked in banking for 40 years before retiring from the Greater Community Bank, Totowa. She was an avid supporter of the Totowa PAL. She ran their bowling league for many years and was also a score-keeper for her son's baseball teams. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Friday at 9:45 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Bonaventure RC Church, Paterson at 10:15 AM. Cremation is private at the request of the family. Friends may visit Thursday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to PAWS, PO Box 3771 Seattle, WA 98124-3771 and/or the American Lung Association, would be appreciated.
