Obituary of Marina De Mendez

De Mendez, Marina (nee Ramirez), age 95 of Wayne at rest in Wayne on November 21, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Guillermo Mendez (1993). Loving mother of Martha Guillen and her husband Anival of Paterson, Clara Giannella of Totowa, Irene Perez of Totowa and the late William Mendez (1985). Adoring grandmother of Anival, Danny, Gabby & wife Lizette, Nicole & husband Frankie, Edwin, Jazzie & husband Oscar. Doting great-grandmother of Josh, Brian, Gio, Cain, Romi, Skye, and Frankie Jr. Dear sister of Hernando Ramirez of FL. Loving aunt of Gloria Daniel. Dear daughter of the late Mario and the late Ana Rosa (nee Molina) Ramirez. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews. Born in Bogota, Colombia, she immigrated to the United States in 1963 and resided in Paterson, then Totowa for 14 years before moving to Wayne 2 years ago. She was a Seamstress for Various Coat Factories, Paterson, for many years before retiring in 1990. Mrs. De Mendez was a member of the I.L.G.W.U., New York and a member of Kingdom Hall. She was also a member of the Totowa Seniors. She enjoyed crocheting, dancing and cooking. She was an avid world soccer fan. She enjoyed visiting Las Vegas and Atlantic City. She especially cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Friday December 1st at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Laurel Grove Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Thursday November 30th 4:00 - 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, would be appreciated.
