Obituary of Maria G Tummino

Tummino, Maria G. (nee Minutillo), age 93 of Totowa at rest in Wayne on September 15, 2023. Beloved wife of 43 years to the late Frank Tumino (2004). Loving mother of Maria T. Thompson & her husband Alen of Totowa and Frank James Tummino of Little Falls (and his late wife, Jane Ullrich 2010). Dear grandmother of Kyle Thompson, Emily Tummino and Christopher Tummino. Also survived by her younger sister, Theresa Codispoti of Ohio (and her late husband, William "Tex"). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in N.Y.C. on 1st Ave. & moved to 11th St. before she was one year old. She had a lot of fun at 11th St. where she learned how to roller skate, & place stick ball. She got married to Frank at St. Bridget's Church, across from Thompson Square Park, with the reception at Tavern on the Green. She then moved to Totowa in 1961. Maria was a bookkeeper for 1st National Bank, Totowa for 10 years before retiring in 1992. Prior to that, she worked for the accounting department of The New York Telephone Co, Manhattan for 13 years. She was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa and a member of its Rosary-Altar Society. She was also a sunshine lady of St. James and was a member of the Italian-American Independent Club and the Totowa Happy Seniors. Maria enjoyed sewing, reading, arts & crafts, puzzles, and classic movies. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Wednesday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. James R.C.
