Proffitt, Bernard A. age 88 of Totowa at rest in Totowa on April 5, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Carol A. (nee Roberto) Proffitt. Loving father of Laurie Proffitt of Totowa and Michael Proffitt of Nebraska. Devoted grandfather of Matthew Proffitt. Dear brother of Barbara Hill of VA, Bonnie Proffitt of VA., and the late Kenneth Proffitt & his wife, Jean; Bill Proffitt and his late wife, Mary; Claude Proffitt & his wife, Beverly; Marie Proffitt; and Jean Proffitt and her late husband, Tom. Devoted brother-in-law of Joyce Roberto and the late Albert and the late Barbara Roberto. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Born in Buchanan, Virginia, he lived in Paterson before moving to Totowa 52 years ago. Bernie was the owner/operator of his own truck, working for various companies. Prior to that, he owned his own gas station, Roberto's Service Center - Sunoco in Paterson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service from the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, 52 Totowa Road, Totowa, on Saturday at 10:00 AM. In of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn 38105 and/or Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 would be appreciated. Arrangements are by Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, NJ 07512.
