Obituary of Lorraine Weber Ewing

Ewing, Lorraine (nee Weber), age 97 of Totowa at rest in Berkeley Township on March 27, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Franklin J. Ewing (1973). Loving mother of Thomas Harold Ewing and Donna Disciascio of Toms River, Robert Allen Ewing & his wife Jeanne Koenig of Cedar Grove, and Debra Ewing Evans & her husband Gerald Jeffrey Evans Sr. of Totowa. Beloved grandmother of Stephen Ewing and his wife Jessamyn, Emily Ewing, Stacy Ann Lockwood and her husband Daniel, Lauren Michelle Freeman and her husband Jody Freeman, and Gerald Jeffrey Evans Jr. and his wife Rachel Gandeza Evans. Great grandmother of Erin McKenzie Freeman, Riley Brooke Freeman, Matthew Thomas Lockwood, Benjamin Daniel Lockwood, Charlotte Ann Lockwood, Miles Doan Ewing, Eli Doan Ewing, and soon to be Raiden Gandeza Evans, expected on March 31, 2023. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was born in Newark, she lived in Cedar Grove, then in Totowa for over 42 years. Lorraine achieved her BSN then went on for a MA in teaching. She taught adults to prep them for the GED then went on to teach science, then taught a nurse's aide course to special needs children. She obtained certification and became a LDTC. She also had many other certifications. Lorraine was a Registered Nurse for many years at Greystone and Overbrook Mental Hospitals. She was a school nurse at Memorial High School, Cedar Grove. After getting her teaching degree, she was a Teacher for Passaic County Vocational Technical High School, Wayne, where she was a learning disability teacher coordinator before retiring in 1993. Her joy was traveling extensively around the world after retirement.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 10:00 – 12:00 with funeral services at noon. Interment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Church of the Holy Spirit Organ Endowment Fund, 36 Gould St. Verona, NJ 07044, Shriners Hospitals for Children 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607, and/or St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center 575 Woodland Ave., Madison, NJ 07940, would be appreciated.
