Obituary of Rosa Martino

Martino, Rosa (nee Agnes), age 85 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on February 25, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Vittorio Martino (2009). Loving mother of Giovanna Corporan and her husband Ruddy of Lincoln Park, Vingenza Guagenti and her husband Russell of Morris Plains,  Margherita Carbonara and her husband Peter of Old Brookville, NY and Vincenzo Martino and his wife Enza of North Haledon. Dear grandmother of Adrienne and her wife Samantha, Frank and his wife Alyssa, Bianca and her husband David, Joshua, Gabriella, Allissa, Christopher, Brianna, Isabella, Luca, Max and Giuliana. Great grandmother of Frank, Antonio and Carter. Sister of Michelina Orbani of Milan, Italy, Iolanda Solimene of Serino, Italy, Antonio Agnes of Avellino, Italy and Giuseppe Agnes of Serino, Italy. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Born in Serino, Prov. di Avellino, Italy, she came to the U.S.A. in 1976 settling in Paterson. She was a Cook for the Salesian Brothers at Don Bosco Technical High School, Paterson for twenty seven years before retiring in 2003. Rosa was a parishioner of St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson. She had a passion for cooking and she was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable and floral gardens. She made home made wine, soppressata and sausage. She also enjoyed sewing. Rosa enjoyed trips to her home town, Serino in Italy. She was an avid reader and enjoyed looking up information via Google, Etc. She loved watching and buying from QVC. Rosa cherished her family and any time spent with them especially all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren which was even more special on the holidays. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson at 11:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, National Center, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas, 75231.
