Obituary of Richard Mohr

Mohr, Richard "Dick" age 85 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on January 23, 2023. Beloved husband of Filomena (nee Russo) Mohr. Loving father of Peter Mohr & his wife, Rosemary of Dobbs Ferry, NY, Richard Mohr & his wife, Jean Marie of Blauvelt, NY and James Mohr & his partner, Frank Tano of Spokane, WA. Dear grandfather of Christina Mohr and Elisa Mohr. Brother of the late Peter Mohr, the late Madeline Leonardi, and the late Cecelia Amato. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Harrison, NY he lived in Paterson since 1970. Dick received his BA from Fordham University and his Masters from NYU. He was a self-employed Real Estate Appraiser before retiring. Dick had also been a Tax Assessor for the Township of Hillsdale and Long Branch. Prior to that, he was a Financial Officer for Lincoln Park, Union City and Passaic. Previously, he was a Clerk to the Board of Finance for the City of Paterson. He was also a Business Administrator for the Newark Board of Education. Dick had also been a Finance Officer for DYFS, Newark, and a Tax Commissioner for Passaic County. He was an active parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson and was a member of their Knights of Columbus. He was also a Democratic Party Committeeman. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Friday at 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:30 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, New Rochelle, NY. Friends may visit Thursday 4-8 PM.
