Mastroianni, Maria (nee Gibilisco), age 88 of Paterson, at rest in Teaneck on May 14, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Orazio Mastroianni (2005). Loving mother to Eugene Mastroianni and his wife Ruth of Clifton and to Linda Mastroianni of Rutherford. Dear grandmother of Autumn Mastroianni, Sebastian Mastroianni, Gabriel Mastroianni and Sophia Mastroianni. Born in Floridia, Prov. di Siracusa, Sicily, Italy, she emigrated to the U.S. in early 1968 and settled in Paterson where she resided for 51 years. One of seven children, she was the only one to live in America; three siblings remained in Sicily and three emigrated to Melbourne, Australia. Prior to her marriage, Maria was a professional dressmaker. Upon having children, she chose to be a stay at home mother and devoted her life to the care of her family and home. Often seen walking on 21st Avenue in the Peoples Park section of Paterson, she was a treasured neighborhood staple beloved by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM. Entombment at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paterson. Friends may visit Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 425 Eagle Rock Avenue, Suite 203, Roseland, NJ 07068.
