Obituary of Laurentino C Manipon

Manipon, Laurentino C. "Larry" age 79 of Totowa at rest in Belleville on April 27, 2022. Beloved husband of forty-seven years to the former Marilou F. Santarina of Totowa. Loving father of Jennifer L. Manipon of Totowa and Jason Lawrence Manipon and his wife Nina of Stamford, CT. Dear grandfather of Noah Manipon. Brother of Rosie Acebebo of the Philippines, Eleanor Manipon of the Philippines, Mila Lewis of Virginia Beach, VA and Tita De Marmels of Chesapeake, VA. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and his beloved pet dog, Harley. Born in Manabo, Abra, Philippines, he came to the U.S.A. in 1970 settling in West Virginia before moving to Paterson and then moving to Totowa forty-four years ago. He was a Hematology Supervisor for Newark Beth Israel Hospital, Newark, for forty-two years retiring in 2015. Mr. Manipon was a member of the ASCP Organization. He was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa. He enjoyed tending to his vegetable and floral gardens. He was an avid fan of the NBA. He enjoyed traveling as well as trips to Atlantic City. He enjoyed maintaining his cars and his home, as well as solving problems. He was a great cook and griller. He cherished any time spent with his family especially his grandson. He was a very loving and hard working man. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
