Obituary of Annette T Keegan

Keegan, Annette Theresa passed away on August 7, 2021, she was 78 years old. Annette Verrengia was born on January 5, 1943 in Paterson, NJ. She lived her entire life in Paterson and on the same street, living in her childhood home since age 3. Annette was a much loved and cherished only child who grew up in a large family of many cousins and relatives. Annette was happily married to Robert Charles Keegan, who predeceased her on January 12, 2021, for 54 years, and is survived by her daughter Amy Keegan Supko and husband David Supko of Branchville, NJ, her son Robert James Keegan and wife Annmarie Keegan, and grandchildren Robert Patrick Keegan and Charles Nathan Keegan of Wall, NJ. She was predeceased by her parents Emil Verrengia and Filomena (Irvolino) of Paterson, NJ. Annette was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and proud Nana, and friend to anyone who met her. Annette worked as a beautician for over 50 years. She loved making people feel good and being of service to them. She always thought of everyone else first before herself. She was kind, sweet, gentle, generous and caring. She lived her life with a sense of innocence and was a gentle soul. She led an honest, true and simple life which she enjoyed. Annette always wanted the best for others and always wanted her children to have a better life and the best life that they could. She was hard working, loyal and loving. Annette could always be heard saying "God bless you" to everyone. She learned on her first day of Cosmetology school from her teacher that "you never get a second chance to make a good first impression". She always made a good first and lasting impression to everyone she met. Annette got a lot of enjoyment in recent years watching her grandchildren grow and even challenged them to a basketball game or two! Annette loved being part of a big Italian family and loved her cousins and friends with her whole heart. She was such a generous soul that she would give you the shirt off of her back if you needed it. She had a lot of faith and prayed daily to her favorite saint, Saint Pio. We pray that Saint Pio is watching over Mom now. We know that she went straight to Heaven. Rest in Peace, Mom. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Friday at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Thursday 5:00 - 8:00 PM and Friday 9:00 - 11:30 AM.
