Eugene was one of my oldest and dearest friends, and a terrific team-mate.
We go all the way back to 1st grade together.
He was the Center (and a good one) on our grammar school basketball team, as well as the center of attention at many of our childhood group-grins. He often wore a big wide smile back then.
I'll forever miss those wonderful childhood days we shared at school, and running around each others' neighborhoods and our welcoming homes. My Mom loved him and his free flowing sense of humor. "What a character!" she would often say.
I am thankful to have known him and grateful to have been able to share such times together with him.
My only hope is that you are peacefully at rest now Eug.
