Kane, Michael J. age 72 of Totowa at rest in Dover on August 2, 2012. Beloved husband of the former Caryl E. Dickerson of Totowa. Loving father of Michael R. Kane, M.D. and his wife Ann of Oakland, Donna Murone, M.A. and her husband Joseph of Little Falls, and Timothy P. Kane, Esq. and his wife Cheryl of Montville. Caring grandfather of Carina and Joseph Jr. Murone and Brittany, Tyler, Jeana, and Kyle Kane. Dear brother of Carol Wright and her husband Anthony of Plymouth, Michigan. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. Born in Jersey City, he was a longtime resident of Totowa. Michael was a Salesman for Hostess Cake, Saddle Brook, for over thirty-five years before retiring in 1999. Mr. Kane was an active parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa and a member and former Grand Knight of the St. James Knights of Columbus, Totowa. He was the recipient of the 2012 Parishioner of the Year Award, the 2012 Knights of Columbus Knight of the Year Award and the 2012 Catholic Vivere Christus Award. In addition, for years, he played and managed several softball teams and was a peacetime Army veteran. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Monday at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Interment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Donations to St. James Knights of Columbus, C/O St. James Rectory, 32 St. James Place, Totowa, NJ 07512 would be appreciated.
