Wells, Walter C.J., Walt Wells, 97 lifelong resident of Totowa passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 5, 2019. He is survived by his wife of seventy three years, Gen, their eleven children, Bernadette Dockray, Jane and Rich Reardon, Walter Wells, Bonnie and Nelson Romaine, Bryan and Robin Wells, Timothy and Luba Wells, Jeffry and Barbara Wells, Cindy and Glenn Thomson, Laure and Casey Meyer, Roy and Nancy Wells and Chad and Kim Wells, eighteen grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren. Walt served in WWII for three years as a Surgical Technician with the rank of Sergeant throughout Africa, Italy, France and Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the European African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. After the war, Walt was employed as a Sheet Metal Mechanic by Dericks Sheet Metal Works in Totowa for nearly fifty years. Walt and Gen enjoyed many family vacations in Maine and once retired, visited numerous National Parks where Walt enjoyed perfecting his photography skills. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Monday at 10:00 AM. Funeral mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:30 AM. Friends may visit on Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Interment will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Brigadiere General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org.
