Obituary of Jane M. Puccio

Puccio, Jane M. (nee Muller), age 71 of Wayne, passed away peacefully on July 21 following a brave battle with cancer. She leaves her loving husband of 40 years, Frank Puccio. She is also survived by many dear friends and family, including first cousins, Barbara Grasso, Margaret Micchelli, George Mitchell, Carole Muller, and Diane Snow. Born in Paterson, Jane lived most of her life in Paterson and Wayne. She was a high school English and Social Studies teacher for Parsippany High School for 38 years before retiring in 2006. She was a lifetime regular and retired member of NJEA. Recently, she was elected to the Parsippany High School Hall of Fame and was honored as an Outstanding Educator by the Rotary Club of Parsippany-Troy Hills. For many years, she also taught the elective program, Institute for Political and Legal Education, at Parsippany High School. An engaging conversationalist, Jane was an avid reader and was passionate about history, politics and current affairs. She loved travel and outdoor activities, including, biking, hiking, kayaking and cross-country skiing. In her recent years, she enjoyed playing Mahjong with her friends, The Mavens. Finally, she was a most kind, gentle, caring, and generous person, who will be missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Friends may call Wednesday 4-8 PM. Cremation will be private at the request of the family.
