Obituary of Emanuel Monachello

Monachello, Emanuel of Haledon, NJ passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the age of 90. Emanuel was born to the late Angelo and Giovanna (nee Bertolino) Monachello on December 3, 1926 in Scoglitti, Sicily. Monachello arrived in Paterson, NJ in 1947, to build a future for his beloved family. For many years, he worked for Clifton Clothing Company in Wallington. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Gerard's Church in Paterson. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed cooking delicious meals with his wife and family. Beloved husband of the late Teresa (nee Poidomani) Monachello (2007). Loving father of Jo Ann Nielsen of Haledon and Sandra Zimmermann and her husband Scott of Wayne. Dear grandfather of Danielle Nielsen, Michael Zimmermann, Lauren Zimmermann and Matthew Zimmermann. Dear brother of Anthony Monochello of Paterson and the late Joseph Monachello (1994). Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson at 11:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Monday 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
