My sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the loss of Lou. He was a wonderful man and a great guy to be around at so many different fight venues over the years. The boxing world, and certainly the worlds of all those who knew him, are a much sadder place without him. May he rest in peace.

We had a special connection to Lou from his time at Preakness Healthcare Center. I spoke to him everyday when I visited my husband and we had some very interesting chats. I knew of Lou Duva prior to meeting him so I knew his great accomplishments. He always promised to let me read his book but I never got the chance. We will miss seeing him everyday but never miss the man we got to know so well.

I am so sorry for your loss. Lou and I go back all the way to the 60's when I was in the training camp of Rubin Carter. We also worked many fights together, Holyfield, David Tua, Pernell Whitiker and I always enjoyed talking boxing with him as we shared many great memories.
Blessings and condolences,
Referee Ron Lipton

It was a brief meeting in a physician"s office on January 18, 2017. Lou Duva was so warm and friendly, introducing himself and showing me his book and speaking of Holyfield and Marciano. I told him that my great Grandfather sparred as a young man and we spent many a night watching matches on television instead of viewing the Ed Sullivan Show.
Mr. Duva seemed delighted with our conversation and shook my hand! What a dear, sweet, humble man! May he rest in Peace

We wish to extend our deepest sincere condolences to the Duva Family. We met Lou at the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota NY. Lou was a gentlemen and fellow Paesano and boxing expert. We enjoyed meeting and speaking with him. We spoke with him in Italian which he very much appreciated. Our prayers will be with you during this time of sorrow. God Bless Lou, Dio Benedica Lou !
