Obituary of Lucia Polimeni

Polimeni, Lucia (nee Maietta), age 83 of Totowa at rest in Totowa on January 31, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Mario Polimeni (1996). Loving mother of Joanne Polimeni of Totowa, Paul Polimeni and his wife Tina of Bartonsville, PA, Nick Polimeni and his wife Charmange of Bartonsville, PA, and Joe Polimeni and his wife Janet of Rockaway. Dear grandmother of Nicholas, Rocco, and Marco Polimeni, Jennifer Kavcak, Amanda Hosie, Rebecca Raushi, and Kira and Krissa Polimeni. Loving great-grandmother of Colin Mario Kavcak and Paisley Hosie. Sister of Tony Maietta of Totowa and Eleanora Di Lauro of Totowa. Lucia is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Naples, Italy, she came to the United States in 1953 residing in Paterson before moving to Totowa over 50 years ago. She was a seamstress for various clothing companies in Paterson for many years before retiring in 1995. Mrs. Polimeni enjoyed her vegetable garden and she was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed the Jersey shore and also enjoyed bus trips to Atlantic City. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Relatives and friends may visit Saturday from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. Donations may be made in Lucia's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Way, Memphis TN, 38105.
