Obituary of Matthew Brian Linda

Linda, Matthew Brian age 38 of Totowa at rest in Totowa on September 6, 2016. Beloved son of Matthew L. Linda of Parsippany and the late Miriam (nee Sharkey) Linda (2013). Dear step son of Ingrid Patois of Parsippany. Survivors also include many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Born in Little Falls, he lived most of his life in Totowa. He was an I.T. Manager for Kean University, Union, for the last several months. Mr. Linda was a graduate of Passaic Valley Regional High School, Class of 1996 and Kean University where he earned a B.S. degree. He was an avid N.Y. Yankee Fan and his passion was Kart Racing. He won the Indianapolis Nationals in 2006. Matt's passion for kart racing began at the age of six, which reflected his racing number, number 6, throughout his racing days. Blessed with a God given talent, Matt worked hard honing his skills, which garnered him admiration at major and minor tracks, throughout New Jersey and the nation. Matt's trophies will be donated to the Junior Karting Circuit for the next generation of young drivers that compete to realize their dreams. Special recognition is extended to: Eurokart Racing's Bob Falcone, Ace, John-John and Tommy Lane (Flemington Raceway), his forever pal and Master Engine Builder, Eric Garland and loyal friend and Crew Chief, Dave Santella, who supported and assisted in fueling Matt's racing passion, as well as Matt's lifelong companion, senior team member and biggest fan, his loving dog, Luca. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Committal service to follow at Cedar Lawn Crematory, Paterson. Relatives and friends may visit Friday from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, N.J. Division Inc., Bergen County Unit, 20 Mercer Street, Hackensack, N.J. 07601 would be greatly appreciated.
