Chappellie, Rose "Chris" (nee Nobile), age 85 of Paterson at rest in Wayne on February 17, 2016. Born in Paterson, near the church she spent most of her life with St. Anthony's on Beech Street. She later on in years became president of "The Leisure Club." She helped many charities, helping to open the Paterson Boys Club, and the "Lou Costello Sportsman Club", where her son Albert was a boxer. She was very active with the People's Park Neighborhood Association where she ran the "Ad Book", patrolled the neighborhood, and every Halloween, on "Goosey Night" prepared "Spaghetti Dinners" for many youngster's at "The Dover Club." She gave awards out to the best window painters (water colors) so the merchants (who donated the gifts) would not have messes to clean up the next day. She was awarded the "1986 Citizen of the Year Award" for her efforts. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, "Chip" Constantino Chappellie, son Albert Chappellie and his wife Rosemary of Clifton, and son William Priestly of Paterson. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Serafina (nee D'Arpa) Nobile, who came to this country from Sicily, her sister Josephine "Ginger" Nobile, and her nephew John Felicetta. Survivors also include a niece Patricia Wardlow, and a great nephew Mark Wardlow.
