Obituary of Angelo V Gambuti

Gambuti, Angelo V. age 86, long-time resident of Paterson and Butler, currently of Manahawkin, NJ, died Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Southern Ocean Medical Center. Angelo was born on Aug. 26, 1929 in Paterson to the late Ida and Flaviano Gambuti. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired in 1994 from Master Engraving in Elmwood Park, where he was a foreman. He enjoyed painting, gardening, trips to Atlantic City, and walks on the boardwalk with his grandchildren. Family was first, and he lived his life dedicated to taking care of their needs. Angelo was a devoted husband to Darlene (nee Bushore) and loving father to eight children: Michael of San Antonio, TX; Greg and his wife Maryellen of Vernon, NJ, Rick and his wife Sue of Oak Ridge, NJ, Lisa Knapp and her husband Michael of Parsippany, NJ, Kim of Manahawkin, NJ, Lori of Manahawkin, NJ, and Chris and his wife Cindy of Barnegat, NJ. He was predeceased by his son, Scott in 1995. Angelo has 20 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, NJ on Thursday, February 18 at 9:30 a.m. A funeral mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, Beech Street, Paterson, NJ. Entombment at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paterson. Visiting takes place on Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital for the fight against leukemia.
