Obituary of Donald J Ariola

Ariola, Donald J. "Don" age 92 of Totowa at rest in Wayne on February 1, 2016. Beloved husband of the former Frances L. Scheppe of Totowa. Loving father of Frank D. Ariola of Totowa and Don T. Ariola and his wife Carol of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Dear Grandfather of Jennifer, Jeffrey, Justin, Stephanie, Donnie, and Anthony. Great grandfather of nine. Also surviving are two nephews. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson before moving to Totowa in 1949. He was Superintendent of Construction for Cerami Construction, Belleville, for many years before retiring in 1982. Mr. Ariola was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa and a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. James Council #6574. He was a WW II army veteran holding the rank of Tech 5. He participated in the Normandy Beach Invasion. He played the trumpet in the military band. He was a member of the American Legion Post #227, Totowa. He was a member of the Totowa Happy Seniors. He was an avid golfer and an avid baseball fan. He played baseball in high school with Larry Doby. Mr. Ariola was meticulous about his lawn and he enjoyed making wine. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Friday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C.
