Obituary of Mario J Pomante

Pomante, Mario J. age 92 of Garfield at rest in Hackensack on October 3, 2015. Beloved husband of the former Frances Lombardo of Garfield. Loving brother of Auguste Pomante and his wife Laura of West Palm Beach, FL. Dear brother in law of Doris Pomante of Wayne. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews who loved him very much. Born in Burrillville, RI., he lived in Paterson for most of his life before moving to Garfield. He was a Mason Contractor for Al Pomante & Sons Inc., West Paterson, for many years before retiring. Mr. Pomante was a WW II Army Veteran in General Patton's 51st Armored Infantry Battalion, 4th Armored Division as a foot soldier. He loved to smoke cigars, drink fine brandy and enjoy a glass of wine with dinner. He was a great cook and he was an avid vegetable and floral gardener. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Section 1A, 52 Totowa Road, Totowa, on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow.
