Carociolo, Mary "Mae" (Devoted wife and Godmother Extraordinaire) Mae Carociolo, 99, died Tuesday, September 1, in her Totowa home with her family by her side. Mae was born June 8, 1916, in Paterson, NJ, to Harry and Margaret Richards. She was a supervisor at Manhattan Shirt Company in Glen Rock, NJ for 25 years before retiring. Mae was a member of the Passaic Valley Elks Lodge #2111, AMVETS National Ladies Auxiliary in Totowa, NJ, and a faithful parishioner of St. James in Totowa, NJ. Aunt Mae, as she was known, through her world travels bestowed her poise and social graces upon everyone around her. Her vast experiences across the world granted her sharp wit and insightful perspective appreciated and loved by all who were blessed to know her. Beloved wife of the late Ben Carociolo, Devoted cousin and godmother to Veronica White and her daughter Maegan Hargis of Tampa, FL. Cherished godmother to Kathy & Earl Gilmore of Pensacola, FL and Maria Macchiarelli. Most beloved and dear friend to Maria Cowan of Lincoln Park, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at St. James, 410 Totowa Road on Thursday at 9:30 AM for her funeral mass. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
