Obituary of James V. Boscarino
Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Boscarino, James V. April 15, 1916 - May 3, 2013. On May 3, 2013 Jim was called home to our Lord and to a reunion with the love of his life, his wife, Jean (nee DeRosa) Boscarino. For many years he and Jean operated the Magic Mirror Beauty Salon on Diamond Bridge Avenue in Hawthorne. Together, they traveled all over the world. As a young apprentice barber, his boss told him to trim a woman's hair. Although he had never done that before, the result was a success. That was the beginning of a life-long career and a successful business. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served until his discharge as a sergeant in 1945. He was a member of the DAV and the American Legion. Jim was born in Paterson, and had just celebrated his 97th birthday. His parents were Biagio Boscarino and Salvatrice Ferro. He was predeceased by his sisters, Salvatrice (Sally) Barone and Concetta (Kitty) Donahue and a nephew, Richard Gallo. He is survived by nephew, Robert Barone and wife Loretta, cousin V. Richard Boscarino and wife Josephine, and several grand nieces and nephews. Internment is private at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd. Totowa, is in charge of arrangements.
