Coscia, Rosario of Wyckoff (formerly Paterson) passed away on May 10, 2012 at his home. Mr. Coscia was born on June 8, 1923 in Montella, Italy. During World War II he was a prisoner of war in Germany from 1944 to 1945. He was liberated by Allied Forces after the Normandy invasion and volunteered for service with the U.S. Military. He was known by all as extraordinarily devoted to his family and faith and extremely hard working. He was a passionate gardener who grew fruits and vegetables at three locations to supply his entire extended family and many friends. He married Fiorina Capone on November 25, 1951 and shortly thereafter immigrated to the United States where he settled in Paterson, New Jersey. After a brief period in the textile industry he began forty years as a mason and member of the Allied Bricklayers Masons and Plasterers International Union. He was a lifelong parishioner at St. Mary's R.C. Church in Paterson and more recently St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church in Wyckoff. He is survived by his wife of sixty one years, Fiorina Coscia; his daughters, Stella Baldino and son-in-law Mario of Wayne, Dr. Sylvia Coscia of Wyckoff and his son, Anthony Coscia and daughter-in-law Alice of North Caldwell. Mr. Coscia had seven loving grandchildren (Christine, Joseph, Maria, Stephen, Elizabeth, Marissa and Laura). He is also survived by his brother, Frank Coscia, and sister-in-law Elena Coscia of North Haledon. His brother, Orazio Coscia, predeceased him last year. His sister-in-law, Giovanna Coscia of North Haledon also survives him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will take place at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the New Jersey Community Development Corporation, 32 Spruce St., Paterson, NJ would be appreciated.
