Obituary of Francesco Tauro

Tauro, Francesco, age 94, of Totowa passed away on February 11, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Chiara "Rina" (nee Ramunno) Tauro (1994). Loving companion of Ilva Loccardi of Totowa for 15 years. Caring father of Dr. Victor Tauro and his wife Donna of Manahawkin, Joanna Doyle and her husband Michael of Lincoln Park, Gladys Hitlin and her husband Steve of Toms River, and Francesco "Frank" Tauro, Jr. of Paterson. Devoted grandfather of Nicole Milne, Danielle Tauro, Michael John and Dana Marie Doyle. Survivors include many nieces and nephews in Italy. Born in Utica, NY he was raised in Alberobello, Bari, Italy before coming back to the U.S.A. in the late 40's residing in Totowa. He was a Teacher for the Paterson Board of Education, Eastside High School, for thirty-eight years before retiring. An avid gardener, he spent his summers nurturing his divine garden and enjoyed making wine in the fall. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa on Thursday at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Laurel Grove Mausoleum, Totowa directly follows. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
