Abate, Susan M. (nee Samgour), age 48 of Totowa at rest in Totowa on February 28, 2011. Beloved wife of Gandolfo "Randy" Abate. Loving Mother of Emily "Emma" Abate, Patrick I. Abate, Andrew S. Abate and Danny G. Abate all of Totowa. Dear daughter of Peter S. Samgour of Haledon and the late Mary (nee McCabe) Samgour (2010). Sister of Lorna M. Samgour of Haledon, William Samgour and his wife Jack-Lyn of North Carolina, Don Samgour and his wife Robin of North Haledon, Alan Samgour and his wife Marcie of Little Falls and Peter Samgour of Haledon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her beloved pet dog Winnie. Born in Paterson, she lived in Haledon most of her life before moving to Totowa in 1998. She was a Homemaker and parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa. Mrs. Abate was a loving mother and wife and her focus was on her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa, on Thursday at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may call Wednesday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
