The first thoughts that come to mind of my beloved Aunt Annie relate to food. It was impossible to visit her and not be fed a feast. As she was getting older, I didn't want her to "fuss," so I would tell her I couldn't come for dinner...I was just going to stop in. So, she didn't prepare a meal -- just a "snack." When I saw the sausage & peppers and broccoli rabe (just to name two)put on the table, I chastised her. This was only supposed to be a SNACK. Her response was, "well, it's an Italian snack."
