Metallo, Claire S., of Holmdel and formerly of Middletown, NJ died in West Orange on November 7, 2009 at the age of 73. Claire was the wife of the late Richard Metallo. She was the caring mother of Lydia Green of Hoboken, NJ and Mark Metallo of Boulder, CO. Dear to her were Lydia's husband, Tyrone Green and her sister-in-law, Carol Ann Metallo of North Providence, RI as well as her nieces and nephews. Life-long friends Mary Ann Scotti of Boca Raton, FL and Marjorie Bills of Salt Lake City, UT, brought Claire much joy as well. A native of Brooklyn, NY she started her career at The Standard Oil Company in 1954. She attended Hunter College in Manhattan where her background enabled her to excel as a dedicated employee at AT&T of Holmdel for 16 years as an account manager. Claire's hobbies included her passion for American history, reading and watching classic movies. Her patriotism was admired by many. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and spreading her generosity to her whole family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd , Totowa, NJ on Saturday, November 14 at 10:30 AM. Doors will open at 10:00AM.
