Obituary of John J. Doherty

Doherty, John J. age 56 of Haledon, known to many as "Paterson Jack" passed away suddenly but peacefully on June 15, 2008. Born in Paterson, he lived there before moving to Haledon 25 years ago. He was the son of the late William and Helen Doherty. Jack is survived by his sister Carol Burke-Doherty of Carneys Point and her children Cathy, Colleen and Michael. Survivors include numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Jack attended John F. Kennedy High School and William Paterson University. He was a member of the Ironworker's Local 483 for twenty-five years. In his spare time Jack enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and being surrounded by his friends. Jack owned and operated "The Place" in Haledon. It was the pride and joy of his life. Jack was loved by many and will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends may call Sunday 2-4 PM only at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa. Cremation is private.
