I worked with Erin at GAF/ISP. Erin was one of the happiest and glowing people I have ever met. I always donated to her Avon Breast Cancer walk and thought in the back of my head, "wow for such a young girl she gives so much of herself." The world will not be the same without you Erin, but it is a better place because of you. Thank you for touching my life.

I light this candle in honor of Erin. Erin always made you smile and had a heart of gold. We first met (ISP) through an E-mail and I noticed she was walking for the Avon Breast Cancer. I expressed how I admired her and thanked her for all her efforts especially since my mom and aunt were affected by this disease. I hope my Aunt was able to greet you in heaven... May God bless and guide your family during this difficult time.

On behalf of my family, you have our deepest condolences. She was a great friend to my brother, Chris, who met her at University of Scranton. During his two deployments, she never forgot him and was always a source of support, kindness, and generosity. She "adopted" several soldiers who had little family or friends. I always remember the kind e-mails from her over the years. I'm certainly a better person for having known her.

Dear Billy, Katie, BJ, Patrick and the entire Gourley family: I don't even know what to say. Erin touched so many people throughout her life as evidenced by the turnout at her services and through the numerous written memorials. I have never met Erin but, I can tell you I wish I had. She was a vibrant, dynamic, compassionate woman who was dedicated to her convictions and put others before herself. Erin came into my life because I am best friends with her brother Patrick. She and her family adopted me into their lives. I still remember the what seemed endless road trip to Notre Dame to go see Patrick graduate, our competition of watching Wheel of Fortune, and the very last time I saw them in early August before I was set to deploy and we sat there on the porch just gabbin away with everyone. I never saw her actually upset, she would always just laugh at the end. That smile in the picture is a permanent memory for anyone who came into light of her. She was smart but never boastful, and always benevolent to the cause of aiding others. She was too young of person to have this happen and it is a shame for those who won't get the chance to have her company. To having had her as friend and closely as a sister I am grateful, to know what we shared can now only be memories crushes my heart. To my 2nd family I am so sorry for your loss, I wish I was back home to show my support, know the distance I am at doesn't affect my heart being there right with you all.

I work down the street from your home. I didn't know you, but my heart breaks for you and your family. When young people pass, it is so hard to understand. I lost a brother at 19yrs and a cousin at 26yrs. Both completely different situations. But hard to understand. She must have been an amazing person that God needed her so soon. So take a little comfort with that. My prayers are with you!! Try to have a good Holiday and think of how lucky we are to have had these amazing people in our lives that will never be forgotten. And in a way will always live on. So even if its for such a short time, we are blessed!!!

I only know Erin through the Sgt. Grits Forums. I talked with her when her boyfriends Charles was coming home from a deployment and my husband helped her to figure out what time/date he would be there for sure. She had such a cheery voice. I could see her smile through the phone. She always wrote such positive words on our forum. She will be truly missed by all.

I was fortunate to have gone to elementary school with Erin and play on many PAL sport teams with her. She is one of the nicest persons I have ever known. She was the girl who always had a smile on her face. My deepest condolences to Gourley family.

I never met Erin, only trading work emails and occasional calls from opposite sides of the US. However, I could tell that Erin was a kind, friendly person. Just last week we talked about her admirable efforts in cancer fundraising. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all who loved her. You have my prayers for comfort and strength.

Dear Pat,
No words can take away the pain you are feeling, IT'S NOT SUPPOSE TO BE LIKE THIS! Erin was a ray of sunshine, she HAS that magic smile that makes everthing ok. So,tonight when you go outside, look up at the sky and when you see the brightest star shinning down upon you, it's ERIN telling you she ok. Pat, I pray for you that God gives you the inner strength you need to get through this difficult time. Hold your daughter close to your heart and be VERY PROUD that you are her MOM!May God bless you and your family with the energy you need to move ahead. We now have another angel with us,
Love, Sue Fusco
