Dearest Julie,
Please accept our heart-felt sympathy and deepest condolences. We’ve known one another for but a short time. However, you and your husband have left an indelible mark in our hearts. We experienced Mr. Post’s kindness, humor and the “genuiness of his smile. I remember the day that we met. Ruth, Caleb and I felt as if we’d known you and Dick forever. Your smiles, hugs, humor and laughter were contagious. We left your home feeling enriched with new loved ones and privileged to call you friends.
Our hearts are still warmed to remember our realty agent stating: “Despite having a higher bid, the Post’s have preferred to lose profit on their home in order that you may purchase it. The joy in your voices and the warmth of your welcome was delightfully overwhelming. Mr. Post’s impromptu visits after our purchase were always a treat. We can only hope to be as great neighbors as you and that our new neighbors will grow to love and enjoy us half as much as they do you and Dick.
Today your grief is our grief. Your sorrow is our sorrow, to think that we will never walk together with Mr. Post on this earth…That we will no longer hear his footsteps or listen to his voice. A beloved wife is diminished of an adoring husband, Richard Post. Loving siblings are diminished of an exceptional Father, Richard Post. A Family diminished of a dearest loved one, Richard Post. Grandchildren are diminished of an adoring grandfather who saw them grow, who cherished them and whose arms were never too tired to hug, and always answering their call for “Grampa, Richard Post. Friends are diminished of an extraordinary friend, “Dick Post. The world of magic is diminished of an outstanding performer, truly “The Amazing Dick. A Church is diminished of a faithful member, Richard Post. A City is diminished of an esteemed citizen, Richard Post. A Country is diminished of a brave Coast Guardsman who earned the everlasting gratitude of the American people for his service and sacrifice. The World is diminished of a most wonderful human being…Mr. Richard Post....
But Heaven…Heaven is joyfully augmented of a bright and joyous soul, upon whose eyes closed here on Earth on Sunday, 4th of November, opened in Glory where he was ushered in and welcomed: “Well done, good and faithful servant…Enter into the joy of the Lord (Math. 25:23).
Richard Post will never be diminished from our memories…because his life, in one way or another touched our lives. And recorded, engraved in our memories are the tender moments…the difficult moments; the smiles and tears that God gave us the privilege with him to share. We will always remember him fondly and with sweet affection. We say farewell, Richard Post. But Dick, will live on in our hearts and memories forever. “Neither life nor death can separate us from the love of God… (Rom. 8:39).
Judy, our prayer is that God’s consolation and peace be upon you and yours throughout this difficult time and always. Please know that you have friends at the cul-de-sac in Totowa and that our home is your home.
Sincerely,
Rev. Sam, Ruth, Caleb Vazquez and Jovita Del Valle.

DEAR JUDY AND FAMILY,
50 YEARS HAVE GONE BY SINCE I FIRST MET DICK AND THEY ALL INCLUDE FOND MEMORIES. OVER THE YEARS WE HAVE SHARED GOOD TIMES AND BAD TIMES. ALL THAT LIFE IS ABOUT. DICK WAS ALWAYS A SHINY STAR IN OUR LIFE HE LIT UP ANY ROOM HE ENTERED WITH HIS WIT AND LOVING SMILE. JUDY YOU WERE ALWAYS BY HIS SIDE AND I'M SURE DICK ALWAYS KNEW YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT WAS FOR HIM AND HIM ALONE.
I CAN GO ON AND ON ABOUT THE PAST 50 YEARS OF KNOWING AND LOVING DICK BUT THERE ARE NO WORDS THAT CAN EXPRESS THE FEELINGS I'VE ALWAYS HAD FOR DICK. HE WAS CLOSER TO ME THAN MY BROTHERS AND WOULD ALWAY BE THERE FOR ME. HE WAS INSTRUMENTAL FOR ME OPENING MY JEWELERY STORE AND HELPED ME IN SO MANY WAYS. THERE WERE TIMES WHEN WE WOULD DRIFT APART IN THIS BUSY WORLD BUT WHEN WE CONNECTED AGAIN WE JUST PICKED UP WHERE WE LEFT OFF. I'M CONFIDENT THAT HE FELT THE SAME WAY ABOUT ME AND ROSALIE AS WE FELT ABOUT HIM AND YOU. SOMETIMES THE UNSPOKEN WORDS ARE THE MOST CHERISHED ONES. OF COURSE WE CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW HE WILL BE THE BRIGHTEST STAR IN HEAVEN. HE IS THERE TO BEAM HIS LOVE AND GIFT OF LAUGHTER DOWN ON US.
TO RICK, PAM AND KIM OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY FOR YOUR LOSS WE KNOW YOU WILL ALL BE THERE FOR YOUR MOM TO HELP HER THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT TIME.

I can say with an honest and open heart that Dick Post was truly "The Amazing Dick Post. He was amazing in so many ways; he was a friend to all, and always a bright light at the clubhouse and comic relief. I can say that having known Dick made me a better person. He will be missed greatly.
To the Post Family, do not cry that Dick is no longer on this earth instead rejoice that one day we will all see him again at God's bountiful banquet. My love and prayers are with you as you go thought this very hard time. Remember that I am just a phone call away or a quick ride to the clubhouse on the weekends. I know that God will be your light and your comfort.
Love Always
